There is a multitude of information on the internet about Social Security.
So why do I take the time and effort to publish this site?  Because I want to target information directly for beneficiaries and applicants to find quickly and easily.  The Social Security site ( http://www.ssa.gov/ )is excellent for those who know how to use it, and we link to several useful sections of it, but it has much more information than is necessary for most people.  I have a practical insight gained from my many years experience as a Social Security Claims Representative, disability benefits attorney, author of the Social Security Benefits Handbook, now in its fifth edition (Sourcebooks), and consultant to professionals.

My goal is to focus on the practical nuts-and-bolts information that will help the beneficiary get every last dime coming to him or her.  You should be able find what you need here or in my book, the Social Security Benefits Handbook, available in bookstores and on Amazon.com.  It is a comprehensive  guide to the rules governing social security benefits written in layman's language. Annual updates are published online at www.SocialSecurityBenefitsHandbook.com.

I also want to provide accurate information. Most of the private websites out there really don't know what they're talking about, or they are oriented to policy issues, such as the future of social security, how to pay for it, etc. My site is for those seeking practical, accurate information about social security benefits now: what they are, what you need to do to get them, how to fully protect your rights and get the most the law provides.
